Alma L. Gowan, 91, of De Soto died June 20, 2019, at Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing Center in Festus. Mrs. Gowan was a stitcher at the De Soto Shoe Factory. Born Sept. 3, 1927, in Fletcher, she was the daughter of the late Barbara M. (Miller) and Homer Joseph Bourbon.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Norman H. Gowan.

She is survived by a daughter: Linda Pinkston of Cadet; a son-in-law: Robert “Bob” Gallaway of Hillsboro; two grandchildren: Tom Gallaway of Hillsboro and Roger (Heather) Gallaway of De Soto; four great-grandchildren: Katie Gallaway, Alesha (Caleb) Loveless and Madison and Austin Gallaway; and one great-great-granddaughter: Aubrey Loveless.

She was preceded in death by a daughter: Toni Lynn Gallaway; and three siblings: Ella Brunk, Elmer “Dean” Bourbon and Margie Wilson.

A memorial gathering will be held from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, at Grace Lutheran Church, 121 W. Kelley St., in De Soto, followed immediately by a memorial service officiated by Pastor Steve Flo. Burial will be in the De Soto City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
