Allen Dean Dolph, 86, of De Soto died May 1, 2019, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in De Soto. Mr. Dolph enlisted in the military immediately after graduating from high school, and served as a medic with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his military service, he earned a college degree and began a career as a teacher and principal in Missouri public schools. He also served as a basketball and boxing coach. A master craftsman, he was the owner of Dolph Construction and built many homes in Jefferson County. He was a member of Shekinah Masonic Lodge, the VFW, the Amvets and the Shriners. Born June 7, 1932, in Skidmore, he was the son of the late Dorothy (Surplus) and Burt Dolph.
He is survived by his wife: Dorothy (Greenlee) Dolph; a daughter: Peggy (Michael) Almond of Festus; a son: David (Becky) Dolph of Florida; two stepsons: David and Daniel Greenlee; a brother: Tom (Kathleen) Dolph; 12 grandchildren: James Almond; Allen J. Dolph; Robbie, Chad and Scott Bingham; Donald, Drew, Lindsey, Cassi and Heidi Greenlee; and Courtney and Trey O’Harver; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son: Donald Dean; two brothers: Raymond and Gary; and a sister: Loretta.
Funeral services and burial were private. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto.
