Missey, Sudie

Alla M. “Sudie” Missey, 93, of De Soto died Feb. 6, 2021, at the Villas in De Soto. Mrs. Missey was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in De Soto. She had worked at the De Soto Shoe Factory and Jefferson Square Lodge and was a volunteer with the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store in De Soto. She was born Nov. 7, 1927, in Blackwell, the daughter of the late Thomas Firman and Sarah M. (Politte) Boyer. She was preceded in death by her husband: Lester J. Missey.

She is survived by four children: Ron (Jody) Missey of Potosi, Sharon Kite of Crystal City, Angie (Doug) Smith of De Soto and Martha (Rick) Helenschmidt of De Soto; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church family.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Leslie Nicole Helenschmidt; three sisters: Nellie Meadows, Freda Boyer and Virginia Boyer; and two brothers: Joseph Allen “Buck” Boyer and Edward Boyer.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in De Soto, officiated by Father Alexander Anderson. Burial is in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Tiff. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
