Alice Evans Vogt, 103, of Festus died Aug. 19, 2021, at her daughter’s home in Webster Groves. Mrs. Vogt sang at weddings and concerts for many years. She was a member of the Sonateers women’s choir, an honorary member of the Festus VFW, a volunteer at Sacred Heart School, Festus High School and St. Pius X High School and the Jefferson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of Sacred Heart and Our Lady Catholic churches. She enjoyed sewing, Cardinals baseball, Mizzou football, Blues hockey, playing cards, traveling and a weekly martini. Born Nov. 20, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Luna Evans.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years: Charles W. Vogt.
She is survived by four children: Barbara (Nick) Caimano of New York, Corky (Harry) Bahr of Webster Groves, Patti (Shrewsbury) Viers and Bob (Vicki) Vogt of Tennessee; a daughter-in-law: Joanne Vogt of Virginia; 15 grandchildren: Steve (Cynde) Caimano, the Rev. Cathie (Jeff Haas) Caimano, Matthew (Judy) Caimano, Steve (Winnie) Bahr, Laura (Jeff) Eberle, Sarah (Mike) Small, Julia (Josh) Vollmer, Camp (Brooke) Murphy, Mac (Robin) Murphy, Lt. Col. Patrick (Liz) Vogt, Phil (Hilary) Vogt, Bryan Viers, Jacob Viers, Katie (Tim) Miller and R.J. Vogt; 16 great-grandchildren: Sarah, Ross, Abby, Alex, Justin, Wyatt, Zoey, Missy, Melanie, Remi, Seda, Daegan, Samantha, Christopher, C.J. and Ellie; and numerous family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Marti Murphy; a son: Retired Col. Bill Vogt; and four siblings: Reed, Edwin, Ida Dunnavan and Agnes Eichenberger.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Visitation will resume from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, immediately followed by a funeral Mass at Our Lady Catholic Church, 1550 St. Mary’s Lane, in Festus. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association, 2029 Woodland Parkway Suite 105, Maryland Heights MO 63146. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
