Alan Randolph Borner, 94, of Festus died Sept. 13, 2022, at his home. Mr. Borner was the owner of Borner’s Store in Staatsburg, N.Y., and was a member of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church. He enjoyed watching sports, doing crossword puzzles, eating out and visiting with family and friends. Born April 11, 1928, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., he was the son of the late Marian (Randolph) and Wilfred Borner. He was preceded in death by his wife: Harriet (Allen) Borner
He is survived by three daughters: Karen (John) Albrecht of Festus, Donna Frye of Endicott, N.Y., and Jill Borner of High Falls, N.Y.; a niece: Nancy Geiger; a nephew: Bill (Nancy) Geiger; five grandchildren: Franz (Laura) Frye, Hannah (Ryan) Van Deusen, Matthew (Jessica) Albrecht, Amanda (Andrew) Houston and Nate Borner; seven great-grandchildren: Tanis, Kailynn, Raluca and Kris Frye, and Addison, Amelia and Alayna Houston, with another on the way; two great-great-grandchildren: Gabriel and Peyton Frye; a great-niece: Becky (Ryan) Schroeder; and a great-great-nephew: Thomas Schroeder. He was preceded in death by a sister: Gloria Geiger.
A celebration of life will held from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, at The Hosting Haven. Memorials may be made to a local food pantry. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
