Road construction ahead

Drivers in the Arnold and Imperial areas should expect delays while traveling a couple of roads beginning Wednesday (May 4).

Crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation will shut down southbound Jeffco Boulevard (Hwy. 61-67) just north of Telegraph Road (Hwy. 231) Wednesday through Friday for pipe replacement.

Work will be done from 7:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. and both northbound and southbound traffic will be shifted to the northbound lanes on Wednesday and the southbound lanes on Thursday while work is going on.

On Friday evening, crews will complete any unfinished work.

A county road project also is scheduled to start on Wednesday.

Crews from Gershenson Construction Co., Eureka, will start installing water lines on the east side of Old Lemay Ferry Road between East Rock Creek Road and Timber Creek Lane in Imperial on that day.

During the four-week project, there will be temporary signals or workers with flags to direct motorists through the construction area. Partial lane closures are planned outside of rush hour times.

The water line work is being done to prepare for a realignment of Old Lemay Ferry between East Rock Creek and Spring Forest Drive and the addition of turn lanes on that stretch. Work on the road is expected to start June 3.
