Preliminary work on a project to improve a pair of intersections on Miller Road in Imperial has been delayed.
Jefferson County Public Works Director Jason Jonas said Spring Forest Road at Miller Road, which had closed so crews from Gershenson Construction Co., Eureka, could begin preparing a new approach for Spring Forest as it approaches Miller, has been reopened.
Jonas said crews from Gershenson could not report to the area because of illness.
“The contractor will need a week to recover back to full staff,” he said.
Spring Forest Road now is scheduled to be closed at 8 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 26).
When crews begin work, they’ll start clearing trees and reinforcing the slope to the relocated section. Miller Road will remain open during that time and traffic from Spring Forest Road will be detoured north on Old Lemay Ferry Road and over to Vogel Road.
The work is part of a project to improve the Spring Forest and Country Wood Drive intersections with Miller.
