Leader seeks vendors, participants for April 20 De Soto Senior Expo
The Leader is seeking vendors for the De Soto Senior Expo set for 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday, April 20, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 13225 Hwy. E. Vendors who would like a booth at the event may contact their Leader sales representative. Or, call the Leader at 636-931-7560.
Anyone 50 an older is invited to attend the expo. Admission is free.
A variety of vendors who provide products and services that appeal to seniors will be on hand to meet with attendees. Many vendors will offer giveaways and drawings.
The event also will include free bingo, music and speakers, as well as free doughnuts and coffee while supplies last. J.B. Louis and The Legends, the official Leader Senior Expo band, will provide the music, playing its brand of country and vintage rock music. Seniors are welcome to sing along and dance in the aisles.
The Leader will hold a drawing for a grand prize at the event.
In addition, the Leader is holding its Way to Go photo contest in conjunction with the expo, and seniors are encouraged to send in their favorite travel or vacation photographs.
Prior to the expo, a photo contest winner will be drawn at random from all eligible entries, and the winner will receive a $200 cash prize.
The deadline to submit an entry for the photo contest is 5 p.m. Friday, April 1. There is a limit of two entries per person.
The April 14 issue of Grand Times will include information about the expo, along with as many Way to Go photo contest entries as space allows.
Anyone who entered the photo contest in previous years is welcome to enter again, but please submit photos from a different vacation for this year’s contest.
To be eligible for the contest, entries must include the following information:
■ Photographer’s name, age, address and phone number.
■ The date and place the photo was taken and by whom.
■ The names of any people in the photo.
Photos may date back to the reader’s childhood or be as recent as last week. Please write a brief description about why the trip was memorable.
