Two incumbent state representatives in the area are running unopposed.

In District 114, Republican Becky Ruth of Festus will begin her second term.

The district covers eastern central Jefferson County.

Democrat Ben Harris of the Hillsboro area is running for his fourth and final term in District 118.

District 118 includes parts of central and southwestern Jefferson County and northeastern and central Washington County.

He cannot run for a fifth term in the House under the state’s term limits laws.

State representatives serve two-year terms.

The pay is $35,915 per year, a weekly allowance for miles traveled going to and returning from meetings, and expenses for each day the General Assembly is in session.
