Smugala’s Pizza in Arnold will close temporarily so it can relocate a few doors down in the same retail complex on Vogel Road, says co-owner Joe Smugala.
The restaurant, currently at 3827 Vogel Road in the Jefferson County Plaza, will be closed for about two weeks, beginning Monday, Feb. 3, while the relocation is underway, Smugala said.
The Smugala’s restaurant opened in mid 2012 and serves pizza, sandwiches, pastas, salads, appetizers and more.
It will re-open at 3787 Vogel Road, at the west end of the Jefferson County Plaza, where the Once Upon a Child thrift store used to operate before relocating to St. Louis County.
Xist Fitness will take over the space where Smugala’s currently is operating.
Joe Smugala’s brother, Jim, and sister, Theresa Wardlaw, both of St. Louis County, co-own the Smugala’s Pizza in Arnold.
The three siblings also own and operate a Smugala’s Pizza restaurant on Watson Road in St. Louis County.
Joe Smugala, along with his daughter, Sarah Smugala, and her fiancé, Mark Kern, both of St. Louis, plan early this month to open a Smugala’s Pizza Express at Hwy. M and Catlin Road at the entrance to the Parkton subdivision in Barnhart.
That restaurant will adjoin the UGas, in the space where GiGi’s Fresh Café operated for five years before closing on Dec. 31.
It will have a similar, but smaller menu as the other Smugala’s restaurants.
