Like every other facet of everyday lives, Leader Publications and its schedule of community events has been affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Typically, the Leader hosts five senior expos throughout the year, starting in March in Eureka and continuing through Arnold in October. Each event is preceded by an issue of the Grand Times, the paper’s magazine for seniors.

Current stay-at-home orders have led to the Leader to shift the schedule for the 2020 expos. The new schedule of publications and events looks like this:

• Eureka Senior Expo, originally scheduled for March 25, it has been rescheduled to Wednesday, Sept. 23. The Grand Times will be published in the Sept 17 issue of the paper.

• De Soto Senior Expo, originally scheduled for April 22, the expo has been canceled and plans are in the works to hold “virtual” expo events online instead. Vendors for those events will be prominently featured in the Grand Times published in the May 14 issue of the paper. Keep watching the Leader’s print and online versions for information about the virtual events.

• The Festus Senior Expo is still scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, and the event will be previewed in the Grand Times published in the June 11 issue of the paper.

• The West Side Senior Expo is still scheduled for Wednesday, July 29. The event will be previewed in the Grand Times published in the July 23 issue of the paper.

• The Arnold Senior Expo is still scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 7, and the event will be previewed in the Grand Times published in the Oct. 1 issue of the paper.
