The Fox C-6 School District will hold a special Board of Education meeting at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, to hire a company to replace the turf fields inside the Fox and Seckman high schools’ stadiums.
The meeting will be held via the Zoom videoconferencing app, and it will be broadcast on the district’s YouTube channel, Fox announced today, Aug. 5.
The field turfs at both schools were damaged following heavy rain in July. Fox High is at 751 Jeffco Blvd. in Arnold, and Seckman High is at 2800 Seckman Road in Imperial.
Last month, Superintendent Paul Fregeau said the damage is significant and the cost to repair both turf fields is expected to cost more than $1 million combined.
Fox High Principal Ryan Sherp and Athletic Director Scott Leuthauser sent a letter to high school families on July 14 to announce that the Gerald O’Connor Stadium was closed until further notice.
Seckman High Principal Jeff Krutzsch and Athletic Director Tracy Schmidt sent a letter to high school families on July 15 announcing the closure of the stadium.
