Dakota James Zeiter, 20, of Crystal City recently was sentenced to seven years in prison following a felony burglary charge and a probation violation, according to court documents.
In October 2012, Zeiter burglarized Crystal City High School, stealing four computers and other computer equipment, altogether valued at several thousand dollars, the probable-cause statement said.
Zeiter pleaded guilty to the charge and in May 2014, he was placed on five years’ probation. However, he violated his probation, and on Feb. 11, Jefferson County Div. 4 Circuit Judge Mark T. Stoll sentenced him to seven years in prison. Zeiter may be released early, though, if he successfully completes a 120-day treatment program.
Jefferson County assistant prosecuting attorney Steven W. Jerrell handled the case.
Zeiter currently is in the Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center in Bonne Terre.
