Stacy G. Woodcock, 38, of Barnhart has been sentenced to seven years in prison for assaulting a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest, according to court records.

In May 2010, Woodcock, a persistent offender, fled from a deputy at the intersection of Romaine Creek and Saline roads in the Fenton area, striking the deputy with the door of the vehicle, the probable-cause statement said.

At the time, Woodcock, who previously lived in Cedar Hill, was wanted in Jefferson County for driving with a revoked license, the report said.

While the deputy pursued Woodcock, he drove “in a careless and imprudent manner by speeding and driving on the wrong side of the roadway,” the report said. “(He) failed to yield to an emergency vehicle (with) flashing lights and audible siren.”

In addition, Woodcock ran through two yards, damaging them, according to the report.

In November 2010, law enforcement officers went to a home in the 2600 block of Hillsboro Valley Park Road in High Ridge, looking for Woodcock, who was wanted on outstanding warrants, including one for assaulting an officer, the probable-cause statement said.

Officers had previously tried to arrest him on the warrants, “and each time he fled at a high rate of speed on a motorcycle,” the report said.

As the officers approached the home, they heard a motorcycle start up behind it, so they walked to the side of the home. They headed toward gates on a fence around the backyard and saw Woodcock come speeding toward the gate on a motorcycle, according to the report.

The officers feared they would be struck by the motorcycle and tried to run away, but the front of the motorcycle struck the gates and a post broke off and struck one of the officers in the forehead, “causing a deep laceration,” the report said.

Eventually, Woodcock was apprehended and pleaded guilty to second-degree assault of a law enforcement officer and to resisting arrest, both felonies, and to driving with a revoked license, a misdemeanor, for the May 2010 incident, as well as to second-degree assault of a law enforcement officer, to second-degree attempted assault of a law enforcement officer and to resisting arrest, all felonies, for the Nov. 2010 incident, the report said.

Woodcock was sentenced in October 2012 to three seven-year prison terms – one each for the assault and the attempted assault on a law enforcement officer charges – and to a four-year prison term for each of the resisting arrest charges, as well as to one year in jail for driving while revoked. However, he was released in January 2014 on five years’ probation after completing a treatment program, and the sentences were suspended.

He violated his probation, though, and on Sept. 28, 2015, Jefferson County Div. 4 Circuit Judge Mark T. Stoll executed the three seven-year terms and the two four-year prison terms. They are to be served concurrently, or at the same time, court papers show.

Jefferson County assistant prosecuting attorney Steven W. Jerrell handled the cases.

The three seven-year terms and the two four-year terms also are to be served concurrently with another seven-year term, three other three-year terms and a two-year term Woodcock was sentenced to for other charges, including four counts of possession of a controlled substance and driving with a revoked license, according to court papers.

Woodcock currently is in the Boonville Correctional Center.
