Eureka Police are trying to find a 23-year-old St. Louis woman suspected of impersonating a Walmart employee and stealing televisions from stores in Eureka, Wentzville, Manchester, St. Peters, Collinsville, Ill, and Waterloo, Ill., authorities reported.
At about 12:15 p.m. Dec. 18, Eureka Police were called to the Walmart store at 131 Eureka Towne Center Drive after the woman allegedly stole a Samsung TU7000 TV. The TV was valued at $498, the report said.
The store’s loss prevention manager told police he arrived at work shortly after noon and saw the woman, who was wearing a Walmart employee vest, pushing the TV out of the store. The loss prevention manager said he accompanied her out of the store to a red 2016 Dodge Dart parked in a fire lane near the exit, according to the report.
A man got out of the car and helped the woman load the TV into the car. The manager said he asked the man if he had a receipt for the TV, and the man said he did but would not show the receipt. After the TV was in the car, the man and woman drove away, Eureka Police reported.
Police used the license plate number to identify the woman, but as of Jan. 3, the man who helped her had not been identified, Lt. Michael Werges said. He also said the stolen TV had not been recovered. Anyone with information about the woman or the Dart is asked to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
