Wiring and copper pipes were ripped from the walls at a home on Mulberry Lane in Barnhart. The cost to replace the material and fix the home was estimated at $30,000, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The owner told police the home is vacant, and he checks on the property from time to time. He said he believes the home was broken into between about 2:40 p.m. Feb. 22 and 8:35 a.m. Feb. 23, the report said.

As of March 3, none of the stolen materials had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the incident to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
