Eureka Police are investigating a rash of vehicle break-ins outside the Legends Terrace Apartments on Nicklaus Circle Drive. Nothing was reported stolen, but windows were shattered on two cars and a pickup, and one of the car’s glove compartments was rifled through, authorities reported.
Between 10:30 p.m. July 2 and 8:25 a.m. July 3, windows were broken on a 2018 Chevrolet Camaro, a 2014 Kia Optima and a 2019 Ford Ranger. The cost to replace each window was estimated at about $500, the report said.
All of the vehicles were locked. While it appeared someone got into the glove compartment on the Camaro, it did not look like anyone got into the Optima or the Ranger, according to the report.
As of July 14, no suspects had been identified, Sgt. Michael Tapp. He asks anyone with information about the incidents to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
