jcso 2 children dead 5-28-24

Investigators search a Mazda SUV that was driven this morning to Festus City Hall and Police Station on Tuesday morning by a woman who allegedly told officers she killed two of her children.

Eureka Police arrested a 44-year-old Wildwood man for allegedly stealing $144,105.09 from Keystone Technologies, a computer consulting firm, when he was the company’s account manager. The man turned himself in, and he allegedly said he mistakenly used the company’s money to pay off his credit cards, the police said.

Keystone Technologies reported the theft on Feb. 14. The company recently hired a new account manager who discovered the theft, which led the business to hire a forensic accountant to review its finances, the report said.

The forensic accountant allegedly discovered the former account manager had used the company’s money to pay credit card bills from December 2019 through November 2023, the report said.

On Feb. 23, the man was booked and released pending the application for a warrant, according to the report.

Eureka Police will seek a charge against the man through the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for stealing, Capt. Michael Werges said.
