The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary at the Westinghouse Electric Co., 3300 Hwy. P, west of Festus. It appeared the culprit, who stole numerous items, also cut a portion of the fence surrounding the property and smashed a window in a locked warehouse door to get inside the building, police reported.
Among the items stolen from the warehouse were two Stihl weed eaters, a DeWalt air compressor, a Predator generator, a Predator air impact tool, two Huskey tool kits and a portable light stand. The Sheriff’s Office does not provide estimated values for stolen property or damage to property.
The burglary occurred between Oct. 6 and Oct. 9, the report said.
As of Oct. 10, none of the stolen items had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. Anyone with information about the burglary should call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
