The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of welding equipment from a home in the 7000 block of Turley Road west of De Soto in Jefferson County near the Washington County line. The theft happened in August but was reported Sept. 4, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
According to the report, someone trespassed onto the property and stole a Hobart welder pipe liner and numerous pieces of scrap metal and copper and damaged chain-link fencing. The stolen items and damage was estimated at $4,000, the report said.
As of Sept. 24, the stolen items had not been recovered, and there were no arrests, Capt. Andy Sides said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
