A man’s wedding band and other jewelry and coins recently were stolen from a home in the 2300 block of Marble Springs Road in Barnhart. The burglary occurred between 7:30 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Sept. 6, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Stolen items included a men’s white gold wedding band with the inscription, “Always and Forever,” as well as a pearl necklace, a pair of heart-shaped diamond earrings, a class ring and a variety of rare coins. In all, the items were valued at $1,650, the report said.
The victim said the culprit got into the home through a locked basement door, but deputies did not observe any signs of forced entry. The victim also reported that it looked like the thief came from a wooded area behind the home that leads to South Engle Creek Road, according to the report.
As of Monday (Sept. 26), the stolen items had not been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, Lt. Gary Higginbotham said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-931-7560.
