Eureka Police arrested a man for allegedly offering a gas station clerk $5,000 for sex and exposing himself to her. The suspect, a 60-year-old Washington man, also allegedly had unregistered guns in a pickup he was driving, police reported.

A woman who a customer at the MotoMart gas station, 5695 Fox Creek Road, in Eureka called police at about 12:10 a.m. June 19. She said the clerk, a 23-year-old Union woman, had slipped her a piece of paper that said call the police, the report said.

The customer, who was at the convenience store with another woman, said the man repeatedly told her and her friend to leave the store. After that, the clerk game the woman the note, according to the report.

The woman also said the man kept asking the clerk for directions to a hotel. The woman said she gave the man the directions, but he continued to talk to the employee but eventually left the store and got into a white 2002 GMC Sierra pickup, according to the report.

Officers arrived and stopped the pickup on the parking lot, and one of the officers stayed with the man while the other officer talked to the witness and clerk, Eureka Police reported.

The clerk told the officer the man offered her money to go into the store’s bathroom and have sex. She also said the man walked to a door at the counter and allegedly pulled down his pants to expose himself and said, ‘Look what you are doing to me,’ the report said.

The man was arrested, and officers reportedly found four unregistered guns in the pickup. They also allegedly found $1,368 in cash and a bag that appeared to contain marijuana, according to the report.

At the Police Station, the man allegedly made lude remarks to officers and quoted Bible scriptures. He was booked and released pending application for warrants, the report said.

Eureka Police will seek charges against the man through the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for first-degree sexual misconduct and second-degree sexual misconduct, Lt. Michael Werges said.
