The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a 2015 Volvo S60 from a home in the 900 block of Winter Lake Drive in unincorporated Fenton. The car had been parked in the home’s garage, authorities reported.
The Sheriff’s Office was called at about 9:30 a.m. Nov. 30 by the car’s owner. He told deputies he had left the keys inside the Volvo after parking it in the garage the previous night, the report said.
The victim said he believed the garage door was closed. However, he also said another vehicle parked in the driveway had a garage door opener inside it, according to the report.
It was not reported if the vehicle in the driveway was locked or not, or if the vehicle that was in the driveway was broken into.
The Sheriff’s Office does not provide estimated values for stolen vehicles.
As of Dec. 2, the Volvo had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Capt. Matt Moore said. He asks anyone with information about the stolen car to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
