Arnold Police are investigating thefts from two vehicles and damage to another, after all three were left at Plaza Tire Service so they could be worked on. The vehicles were broken into during two incidents that occurred over a six-day period earlier this month, police reported.
Detective Lt. Jason Valentine said there was no evidence the break-ins were related, even though they were similar.
A BMW Z4 was dropped off at the business, 301 Plaza Way, on Aug. 7, and sometime between 4:30 p.m. that day and 6:15 p.m. Aug. 9, someone smashed the front driver-side window and stole a Kenwood stereo system that was removed from the dashboard. Two pairs of sunglasses also were missing from the car, the report said.
The stereo was valued at about $1,200, and the sunglasses were worth an estimated $250. The damage to the car was estimated at about $300, according to the report.
Between 6:30 pm. Aug. 11 and 8:30 a.m. Aug. 12, someone smashed a window in a 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche parked at the tire shop, and a stereo was stolen from an unlocked 2005 Honda Civic left at the business. The damage to the Avalanche was estimated at about $300, and the stereo stolen from the Civic was valued at about $250, the report said.
Valentine said neither of the stereos had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified. Anyone with information about the incident should call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
