The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is trying to find a 2018 Polaris Ranger UTV and a 2015 utility trailer stolen from the Liberty Ridge subdivision north of De Soto. A 2001 Ford F-250 and a 1997 Dodge Ram also were stolen from homes in the subdivision, but both pickups were abandoned and recovered, authorities reported.
Deputies were called Dec. 4 to the subdivision when the F-250 was found abandoned on the road. The pickup, which was valued at $10,000, had been stolen from a home in the 4400 block of Liberty Ridge Road, the report said.
The owner said the ignition column was damaged on the pickup, which had been locked overnight. An estimate for the damage to the pickup was not available, according to the report.
Deputies also found the Ram, which was worth about $8,000, abandoned. It had been stolen from a home in the 4800 block of Liberty Ridge Road, the report said.
The owner told deputies the Ram also had been locked overnight. The ignition and a toolbox attached to the pickup were damaged, and no estimate for the cost to repair the pickup was available, according to the reported.
While deputies were still searching the subdivision, they learned that the Ranger and trailer had been stolen from separate homes in the 4400 block of Liberty Ridge Road. The UTV was valued at about $15,000, and the trailer was worth about $2,500, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
As of Dec. 14, neither the Ranger nor the trailer had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
