The 16-year-old Hillsboro girl who died June 30 following a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. B west of Hillsboro has been identified.
The teen was Taylor Griffin, the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office announced today (July 8).
At 5:57 p.m. June 30, Griffin was driving a northbound 2010 Pontiac G6 on the highway north of Reynolds Creek Road and lost control of the car, which traveled into the southbound lane, hitting a 2004 Ford F250 head-on, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
Kyle H. Coleman, 34, of Potosi was driving the southbound pickup. No injuries were reported for him.
Griffin was taken by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, where she was pronounced dead at 10:57 p.m., the report said.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
The car was totaled, and the pickup was extensively damaged, the report said.
The highway patrol did not release the girl’s name because she is a juvenile, but Kathleen Hargrave, the director of operations at the Medical Examiner’s Office.
