hands in handcuffs

Arnold Police recently arrested a 42-year-old Barnhart man after he allegedly tried to flee from an officer.

At about 12:40 a.m. Aug. 21, a patrol officer spotted the man speeding by on a Harley-Davidson at Jeffco Boulevard and Riverbluff Drive, Arnold Police reported.

A 37-year-old Arnold woman was riding on the back of the bike, Arnold Police Capt. Robert Ruckman said.

The officer tried to pull over the man, but he turned on Lonedell Road and then abandoned the bike on Peartree Drive and ran away. The woman was seen going into an apartment in the 700 block of Lonedell Road, the report said.

The bike was towed and impounded.

At about 8 p.m. Aug. 25, the man went to the Arnold Police station requesting a release to get the bike back, and he was arrested, according to the report.

He was booked and released pending application of warrants.

Arnold Police will seek charges against him through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, speeding, driving with a revoked license and other traffic violations, Ruckman said.

The woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant and obstruction. She was booked and after paying a bond, was released pending application of warrants through the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, the report said.
