Festus Police patch

An SUV stolen in Festus overnight Nov. 25-26 turned up in St. Louis later in the day Nov. 26, Festus Police Chief Tim Lewis reports.

The 2007 Toyota Highlander had been left unlocked and with the keys inside, he said.

“The owner reported (that) it (was) stolen sometime between 10 p.m. Nov. 25 and 8:30 a.m. Nov. 26,” Lewis said. “It was parked in the 10000 block of Bailey School Road. The owner is 45-year-old man who was visiting from Nashville, Tenn.”

Lewis said St. Louis Police found the Highlander at 7:20 p.m. Nov. 26 on Arkansas Street in the city of St. Louis.

He said the SUV was not damaged.

“The vehicle was returned to the owner,” Lewis said. “He was very lucky.”
