Someone stole eight wheels and tires from Auto Plaza Ford in De Soto early Tuesday morning (Jan. 10). The theft happened about 3 a.m., said Capt. Mike McMunn of the De Soto Police Department.
The wheels and tires were stolen from two vehicles, a 2016 black Dodge Challenger and a 2016 blue Dodge Challenger. The wheels and tires were worth more than $500, although the exact value had not been determined as of Tuesday, McMunn said.
Surveillance footage from the business show a maroon single-cab pickup police believe belongs to the thief, he said.
Several months ago a similar crime was interrupted “when an officer drove by and spooked a suspect” in the middle of a crime, McMunn said.
