Arnold Police allegedly found two men and a woman at the Pear Tree Inn with a large amount of methamphetamine. The three were arrested at the hotel at about 11:30 p.m. Aug. 14, police reported.

Officers found a 28-year-old Liberty man and a 39-year-old Raymore man in a vehicle that allegedly was parked illegally in a handicap space at the hotel and reportedly could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle. Then, officers allegedly found 60 grams of “ice,” or meth, inside the vehicle, along with some marijuana and drug paraphernalia commonly used to distribute the drugs, the report said.

In addition, one of the men allegedly was found with a handgun, and a second gun allegedly was found in the vehicle, according to the report.

A 36-year-old Belton woman was seen walking away from the vehicle and later was found in a hotel room where the three reportedly had been staying, and “an additional large quantity” of ice was found there, the report.

The Liberty man already was wanted on outstanding warrants in Benton County for drug charges and in Platte County for drug and tampering charges and traffic violations, so he was transported to the Arnold Police Station, booked and held for the other law enforcement agencies that wanted him, Arnold Police Lt. Tom Leassner said.

The Raymore man, after complaining about medical issues, was released to Rock Township Ambulance personnel to be transported to an area hospital, and the woman was released at the scene pending application for warrants, the report said.

Depending on results from the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek felony drug charges against the three through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
