Herculaneum Police are investigating the theft of two new lawn tractors from the Buchheit store, 200 Riverview Plaza Drive, in Herculaneum. The theft happened about 10:25 p.m. Aug. 9, after store hours, Herculaneum Police Chief Mark Tulgetske said.

A man “driving a newer model white Chevrolet four-door, long-bed, pickup truck towing a black dump trailer entered the gated yard” at the store, Tulgetske said in a written report. “Taken were two new Poulan zero-turn lawn mowers which were still in the shipping crates. The mowers were valued at $1,999.97 each.”

The store provided police with surveillance footage that showed the truck, trailer and suspect. As of Tuesday (Aug. 14), the lawn mowers had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Tulgetske said.

Anyone with information about the theft or the suspect is asked to call Herculaneum Police Department at 636-479-4791 or 636-797-9999.
