Arnold Police are seeking felony stealing charges against two Jefferson County women for allegedly stealing clothing worth more than $1,000 from Kohl’s, 2150 Michigan Ave. Investigators were able to identify the women because one of them used her Kohl’s rewards account to purchase items at the store before they left, police reported.

A 56-year-old De Soto woman and a 61-year-old Hillsboro woman allegedly worked together to steal the clothing on July 26. The older woman allegedly left the store without paying for the items and waited on a bench outside the store for the younger woman, the report said.

The younger woman purchased a few items at the store and used her rewards account while checking out. Investigators were able to identify the older woman because she is a known associate of the younger woman, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.

Investigators attempted to contact the women, but they received no response. Arnold Police are seeking charges against the women through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for felony stealing, Christopher said.
