Bradley W. Sutton, 21, of Imperial has been sentenced to six years following a variety of charges, including burglary and drug possession, according to court papers.

Also, Nicholas N. Durbin, 20, of the Arnold area has been sentenced to five years following several charges, including a drug charge tied to one of the same incidents Sutton was sentenced for, court records show.

On Jan. 14, Sutton, formerly of the Arnold area, burglarized two homes in the 1100 block of Konert Valley Drive in the Jefferson County portion of Fenton, and a person was home during one of the burglaries, the report said.

Also that day, Sutton resisted arrest by fleeing from an officer trying to arrest him for burglary, according to the report.

Previously, on April 12, 2012, Sutton burglarized a home in the 3500 block of Kreidheider Drive in the Fenton area.

Another man, Jeremy M. Rutledge of Cadet, has been charged in connection with the same burglary, and that case is pending, court records indicate.

On March 5, 2012, Sutton and Durbin were found in Jefferson County with alprazolam, a controlled substance.

Sutton pleaded guilty to all the charges and was sentenced July 16 by Jefferson County Div. 1 Circuit Judge Robert G. Wilkins to six years for the Jan. 14 burglaries, six years for the drug possession charge, five years for the April 2012 burglary and four years for resisting arrest.

However, all the terms are to be served concurrently, or at the same time, the report said.

Durbin also pleaded guilty to the drug charge stemming from the March 2012 incident and was sentenced by Wilkins on July 16.

In addition to the four years Durbin got for that, he was sentenced that day to five years for burglarizing a home on Nov. 4, 2012, in the 400 block of Oak Bridge Court in the Arnold area, the report said.

Previously, on July 27, 2012, Durbin stole some bubble gum from the Dickemann gas station and convenience store on Old Hwy. 21 in Imperial and at that time also was found with heroin and syringe, according to the report.

Durbin got four years for possession of heroin and two 90-day jail terms – one each for the drug paraphernalia charge and the shoplifting charge.

However, all the terms are to be served concurrently, or at the same time.

In addition, Durbin may be released early if he successfully completes a 120-day treatment program, the report said.

Jefferson County assistant prosecuting attorney Thomas E. Hollingsworth handled the cases.
