A 41-year-old Arnold man and a 39-year-old Manchester woman were arrested for allegedly running a meth lab after a fire had to be put out on Bridgeview Court in Arnold. At about 6:10 p.m. Nov. 24, the Rock Community Fire Protection District was called to put out a fire on a lawn along the street, and when Arnold Police officers inspected the home there, they allegedly found numerous items used in the manufacture of methamphetamine, authorities reported.

A small fire had started inside the home and apparently either the man or woman threw containers that were on fire out the front door, which set the grass on fire. The two then fled from the scene, Arnold Police reported.

Arnold Police found the woman in the neighborhood and tracked the man to a residence on Pearl Drive. When police took the pair to the police station to book them, authorities learned the woman was wanted for allegedly stealing a motor vehicle in St. Louis County.

Detective Lt. James Jones said Arnold Police will seek charges against the two through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for manufacturing methamphetamine. The man was released pending application for warrants, and the woman was held for St. Louis County Police, Jones said.
