Arnold Police are investigating the recent theft of trash cans from outside two homes in the 2200 block of Old Lemay Ferry Road. The thefts happened between about 7:15 a.m. and 8 a.m. Jan. 17, a report said.
At one of the homes, the victim saw someone running with trash cans but thought it was a trash service employee and didn’t think much about it until realizing her trash cans were gone, according to the report.
At the other home, a woman reported seeing someone running across her yard with trash cans, but she, too, thought it was a trash service employee until finding her trash cans gone, the report said.
When the trash cans were stolen, they were empty and sitting at the curb in front of the two houses. The stolen cans were valued at $150 each, Detective Lt. James Jones said.
As of Jan. 23, the stolen cans had not been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, he said. Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
