Surveillance video allegedly showed two people break into a trailer at Lighthouse Storage in Eureka and steal tools and other items. The damage to the 2020 utility trailer was estimated at more than $3,000 and the stolen items were valued at $600, Eureka Police reported.
The video reportedly showed two people drive up next to the trailer at 2:56 a.m. Sept. 29 and get out of an unidentified car at the storage facility, 1500 S. Outer Road. The people were wearing dark clothes, and both were holding flashlights. The pair was then seen leaving the parking lot at 3:01 a.m., the report said.
Two latches on the rear door of the trailer were cut, resulting in $3,078.74 in damage. The owner, a 49-year-old Ballwin man, said about $675 worth of tools and other items were removed from the trailer, Eureka Police reported.
As of Oct. 11, none of the stolen items had been recovered, and the people seen in the video had not been identified, Lt. Michael Werges said. Anyone with information about the incident should call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
