Festus Police are investigating the theft of $6,000 in tools from a construction site on East Beffa Street. The theft occurred overnight between April 17 and April 18, Chief Tim Lewis said.

“They left their trailer locked with tools Friday night (April 17). When they returned on Saturday morning, the box with tools had been broken into,” Lewis said. “About $6,000 in electrical saws and other tools were taken.”

He said a lock on the trailer had been cut.

As of April 21, the tools had not been recovered, and there were no arrests, Lewis said. Anyone with information about the theft is urged to call Festus Police at 636-937-3646.
