The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of about $1,000 worth of tools from Mid-America Testing Lab, 10525 Signal Hill Drive, in Catawissa. The theft happened between about 4:30 p.m. Sept. 15 and 7:10 a.m. Sept. 16, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

It looked like a lock to the company’s tool room was cut off a door, and then drills, saws, grinders and other tools were stolen. Video from a Ring doorbell security system at a home near the lab reportedly showed an unidentified vehicle leave the area at 3:54 a.m. Sept. 16, according to the report.

As of Sept. 29, none of the tools had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said. Anyone with information about the incident should call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
