The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of tools from vehicles parked outside Exceptional Electric, 3613 Telegraph Road, just outside Arnold. Three vehicles were damaged, and items were stolen from two of the vehicles during the incident, the Sheriff's Office reported.
The company’s owner called the Sheriff’s Office at about 7:25 a.m. Jan. 8 when he found the damaged vehicles and discovered the missing items. A 2013 Ford Econoline E-250 was broken into, and tools were stolen from it, and a 1998 International 4700 bucket truck was damaged in an apparent attempt to break into it, and items were stolen from its side storage compartments, the report said.
A third vehicle, which wasn't identified, also was damaged, but it didn't look like anyone got into it. Nothing was stolen from it, according to the report.
The Sheriff’s Office does not provide estimated values for stolen items. It also did not provide an estimated cost to repair the damaged vehicles.
As of Jan. 12, a person of interest had been identified, but no arrests had been made, spokesman Grant Bissell said.
He also said none of the stolen items had been recovered.
Bissell asks anyone with information about the thefts to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
