The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the recent theft of tools and other items from a construction trailer parked at New Hope Fellowship Church, 19 Sugar Creek Road, in Fenton.
Sometime between 6:34 p.m. Sept. 30 and 8 a.m. Oct. 1, someone broke into the trailer and stole a shop vac, a Dewalt drill, a Milwaukee cordless drill, a Kobalt grinder with wheel and shroud, another grinder, a Marshalltown taping trowel, a Marshalltown patch trowel, a 500-foot extension cord, altogether valued at $2,795, the report said.
In addition, a latch and a lock on the trailer were damaged, as was a storage cabinet. That damage was estimated at $375, according to the report.
The trailer belonged to SealGuard of St. Louis, which was doing some flooring work at the church, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.
As of Oct. 10, the stolen items had not been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, he said.
Arnhart asks anyone with information about the incident to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
