Tools recently were reported stolen from a barn in the 8100 block of Hwy. Y in Dittmer. The theft happened between about 10 p.m. Aug. 24 and 2 p.m. Aug. 25 while the victim was out of town, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The barn was not locked. Stolen items included a chainsaw, an impact drill and a reciprocating saw. In addition, the ignition was torn out of a 2014 Polaris Ranger. The property was valued at $925, the report said.

As of Aug. 31, the items had not been recovered and no arrests had been made, Cpl. Matthew Moore said. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
