Power tools, lawn equipment and other items recently were stolen from a home in the 1200 block of Spring Bluff Road in the Festus area. The theft happened between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Nov. 13, while the victims were outside shooting guns, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.

The victim said he and family members were outside the home, about 150 to 200 feet away from a detached garage, where the items were stolen. The garage door was open, the report said.

Stolen items included a Stihl chainsaw, a Chicago electric mig welder, a Stihl weed eater, a Firepower torch set, a Sportsman generator, two socket sets, wrenches and ratchets, air tools and other items. In all, the items were valued at $1,880, according to the report.

As of Tuesday (Nov. 22), the stolen items had not been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, Lt. Gary Higginbotham said. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Sheriff's Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
