Eureka Police are investigating the theft of six Firestone tires from Gateway Car Connection, 1721 W. Fifth St. Altogether, the tires were valued at about $1,200, police reported.
Surveillance video showed someone enter the car dealership’s parking lot at about 9:20 p.m. April 6, and the person allegedly was seen rolling and carrying away six tires to the nearby Denny’s restaurant parking lot, 1717 W. Fifth St. The person then loaded the tires into a white Ford pickup and drove away, the report said.
The person was wearing a navy-blue hooded sweatshirt, tan pants and white tennis shoes, according to the report.
As of April 21, the tires had not been recovered, and neither the person nor the pickup seen in the video had been identified, Lt. Michael Werges said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
