Festus Police Chief Tim Lewis is lauding an anonymous caller for tipping off authorities Sept. 27 about an alleged drug deal on the parking lot at the Festus Pasta House, 1606 Galemore St.

“I’d like to thank the person for calling to report it,” he said.

Lewis said his department received the call around 11:30 a.m.

“We got an anonymous call a drug deal had gone on at the Pasta House parking lot (involving) a red Ford pickup truck,” he said. “An officer stopped the truck at the Express Mart (at 801 Collins Drive) and found heroin, meth and paraphernalia.”

The officer arrested three De Soto residents for drug possession – a 28-year-old man, a 32-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman. They were released pending application for warrants, Lewis said.
