The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has charged Timothy Pinson, 28, of Farmington for allegedly breaking into and stealing items from a De Soto home, court records show.
Pinson was charged on March 20 with first-degree burglary, a class B felony punishable by five to 15 years in prison, and stealing items worth less than $150, a class D misdemeanor that carries a penalty of a fine of up to $500. He was arrested on April 1, and as of April 4, he was being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, according to court documents.
According to the probable-cause statement in the case, a woman called the De Soto Police after Pinson entered her home and woke her by punching a closet door in the hallway. He allegedly stole a laptop, MacBook battery and DVD player and fled from the house before police officers arrived.
The woman told investigators that Pinson had previously stolen a key to the home, and she had contacted police numerous times before about him trespassing at the house, the report said.
Jefferson County assistant prosecuting attorney Steven Jerrell is prosecuting the case.
