Jewelry recently was stolen from a home on Margaret Drive in the Fenton area, after three females who said they were hospice care workers visited the home, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.

At about 1 p.m. Sept. 4, the three females showed up at the home and said they were home hospice care workers, and the victim let them in. Then, the females allegedly distracted the victim by talking about decorations inside the home while the youngest-looking suspect went inside a bedroom, the report said.

After the females left, the victim noticed that a gold infinity knot necklace, gold hoop earrings and a gold lapel pin shaped like a musical note were missing. The jewelry was valued at $500, the report said.

The three females were described as Hispanic and reportedly looked to be 12, 40 and 60. They arrived and left in a newer-model black SUV, according to the report.

As of Sept. 13, the jewelry had not been recovered, and there were no arrests, Lt. Gary Higginbotham said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
