The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office recently arrested three people believed to be connected to the theft of AT&T wires in Cedar Hill, and the department is investigating a separate AT&T wire theft in the De Soto area, authorities reported.
Deputies on July 15 arrested a 21-year-old House Springs woman, a 44-year-old Dittmer man and a 43-year-old Cedar Hill man after responding to a report of cut wire near the intersection of Hwy. NN and Kitson Lane in Cedar Hill. When deputies arrived, they allegedly saw the three people loading wire into a vehicle, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
The three were taken to the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, where they were booked and released pending the application for charges, Capt. Matt Moore said.
The Sheriff’s Office had responded to a different theft just three days before the Cedar Hill theft.
Deputies were called on July 12 to the 4300 block of Hwy. V south of De Soto. Sometime overnight between July 11-12 approximately 200 feet of wire were cut from a utility pole.
As of July 17, none of the wire had been recovered from the De Soto-area theft, spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
