The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 54-year-old St. Louis man in connection with attempted burglary at Preferred Waste Concepts, 18 Tenbrook Industrial Park. Before that suspect was stopped and arrested, Arnold Police pulled over another pickup and ended up arresting a 39-year-old Arnold man and a 40-year-old Bismarck woman who weren’t connected to the burglary but allegedly were found with drugs, authorities reported.

Arnold Police got a call about the alleged burglary at approximately 10:35 p.m. Aug. 25. Police were told a green pickup was involved in the burglary, the report said.

At about 10:45 p.m., an Arnold Police officer stopped a green 1996 Ford F-150 on Starling Airport Road near Jeffco Boulevard because it matched the description of the pickup involved in the reported burglary. However, it was determined the Arnold man and Bismarck woman in the truck were not involved in the attempted burglary. The officer smelled marijuana, though, and allegedly found a green-leafy substance suspected of being marijuana and pills in the pickup, according to the report.

The man and woman were arrested and taken to the Arnold Police Station, where they were booked and released pending application for warrants. Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the two through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher.

At about 12:35 a.m. Aug. 26, a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped a green 1997 Chevrolet Silverado on Hwy. 61-67. The St. Louis man allegedly had been at Preferred Waste Concepts looking into the company’s work trucks, the report said.

The deputy issued the man a summons to appear in Arnold Municipal Court for second-degree trespassing and released him, Christopher said.
