The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a pickup, riding lawn mower and tools from a home in the 3900 block of Flucom Road east of De Soto. The stolen items were valued at about $3,050, police reported.
On April 10, a woman called the Sheriff’s Office when she discovered the front door of the home had been forced open. She said she was last at the house on April 5, the report said.
The home was ransacked, but nothing was reported missing from the house. However, a Ford F-150 parked outside the home was missing, and there was glass on the ground where the pickup was parked, according to the report.
A garage door lock also had been cut, and a riding lawn mower and tools were taken, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
As of April 27, the pickup, lawn mower and tools had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. Anyone with information about the incident should call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
