A St. Louis County 15-year-old has been arrested for allegedly breaking into three Arnold restaurants. He also is accused of similar crimes in St. Louis County, authorities reported.
The Arnold burglaries occurred overnight June 26-27, and St. Louis County Police arrested the teen June 28 in St. Louis County and turned him over to juvenile authorities, Arnold Police Maj. Clinton Wooldridge said.
The teen is suspected of breaking into Papa John’s, 1201 Water Tower Plaza; KFC, 1436 Jeffco Blvd.; and Jimmie John’s, 1266 Jeffco Blvd. In each case, the teen allegedly broke glass in the entryway doors to get inside the restaurants. The damage at each of the restaurants was estimated at $1,000, Wooldridge reported.
He said managers from the Papa John’s and the KFC restaurants reported that $500 had been stolen from each of the stores. A manager from the Jimmy John’s reported that no cash had been stolen from that restaurant, only a bag containing receipts.
“He probably thought it was money,” Wooldridge said.
